§ CAPABILITY · METHOD & VERSIONING

Let whoever takes over next see how this analysis was made

We can record the analysis pipeline, parameters, software versions, annotation sources, and how each figure was generated. After members change, the team can still find what data went into each figure and check which analysis run a candidate gene came from.

What gets recorded

Keep the information that is easy to lose inside the project

Pipelines and parameters

Record the pipeline, parameters, software versions, and runtime environment of each analysis, so every step stays traceable.

Annotations and versions

Record the source and version of gene and pathway annotations, locking the annotation snapshot behind each result.

Figure generation

Record the input data, scripts, and parameters behind each paper figure so it can be regenerated and fine-tuned.

Release Log

Keep a running history of dataset and result updates, so any change can be traced back.

This is usually built alongside the database or internal resource; how far it goes depends on the project.
